Hair Care Routine

Hi my loves,

As promised (not as soon as I’d hoped) this is my new hair care routine for my new blonde locks!

First things first! Hair Dye! Now obviously I’m not claiming to be a professional hair stylist at all so I would suggest if you aren’t confident in dying your own hair please please seek professional advice/help!

So to dye my hair I use Jerome Russell powder bleach and cream peroxide – you can buy these at most drug stores or you can use the links at the bottom of this post. The powder comes in packs of four which lasts me 4 touch ups, I just buy the cream peroxide as and when I need it! You can choose either a 30vol or 40vol depending on your hair colour – I usually go for 40vol as it’s for darker hair and takes a little better for me. I re-dye my roots every 4-5 weeks – I will admit I get my Mum to help me do this as to not miss anything. I leave the bleach on for the full advised amount of time just to be sure I am getting the maximum effect!

Once I’ve finished rinsing my dye out I will apply a small amount of shampoo and rinse again before applying a toner to achieve the white/silver blonde. I use a toner by Knight and Wilson, a tube of this will last me 3 full head treatments. For this I go ahead and follow the instructions – apply to wet hair and leave for 30 minutes and rinse. Once I’ve done this I will shampoo and condition my hair before leaving to air dry over night.

For upkeep between touching up my roots and toning my hair I use Touch of Silver shampoo and conditioner every 3-4 days (I try to let the natural oils condition my hair in between washes as bleach seriously dries out your hair). This helps to keep the colour vibrant between touch ups – it also smells incredible! It makes me feel like I’ve been to the salon every time I wash my hair! I also use treatments on my hair once a week to help nurse my hair back to health, these can vary depending on what  I have on hand.

You can find all the links to the products I use below;

Jerome Russell BBlonde High Lift Powder Bleach

Jerome Russell BBlonde Maximum Lift Cream Peroxide

Touch Of Silver – Shampoo & Conditioner

I couldn’t find the Knight & Wilson toner so here is something similar 😉

Hope this helps!

Motivation Monday

Anyone else get into those dark places, where they start to wonder if it’s ever going to get any better? Of course, we all do. Well. I’m over it! Come on, let’s get up and dust ourselves off… it’s 2017 and let’s face it… if we don’t make it happen, no one else will!

Do something you love today! Anything – scrapbook, watch a movie, go jogging! Whatever it is, get yourself all pumped up for the day and get those happy endorphins running through your veins!

This was just a quick post to remind you all that you are amazing and don’t ever let anyone tell you differently! Let’s make it fucking happen!

Have a fabulous day and let me know what you do to get your motivation going!

Where Have You Been?

Hey My Loves,

It’s been a while! I’m not going to bore you on details why … I’m just going to show you what I’ve been up to and then we can all move onto a new year ha!

First things first – AMERICA!

I’m not going to go into too much about our trip to the US here as I’ll do a whole blog post later BUT here is the quick version! We flew from  London – New York – Las Vegas – LA -Atlanta – Miami – London all in about 14 days in total. Yes it was tiring but YES it was one of my most favourite life experiences to date! Here’s a sneak peak at what we got up to!

After we got over our jetlag (yes I woke up at 2am for about 4 days straight) we packed our overnight bags again and went on a reggae cruise to Amsterdam! Honestly, Amsterdam is probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to or seen. Again – I might do another travel post on the day we spent pondering ‘Dam however if I’m completely honest it did rain the whole day so not many pictures were taken BUT never the less – here’s a few of what I do have!

Fast forward to Christmas and New Years, honestly they weren’t as big for us as we normally make it! Jess had to work both Christmas Day and Boxing Day so nothing major happened for us then and I worked New Years Eve and New Years Day so we celebrated the new year with our friends at a house party! Which was the most fun, I much prefer a simple house party than being pushed around in a busy club – not realising it’s midnight until you’re in a toilet cubicle hearing everyone shouting good wishes at each other! ha! I’m also ashamed to say not one picture was taken on my behalf at this party so a massive fail on my part there!

Oh one major thing has changed for me though! I’m now blonde! Platinum blonde to be exact! I fancied bringing in a new hair do before the new year and I’ll definitely post a hair care routine for you as my new hair needs a lot of love and attention!

TA-DA We’ve reached this very moment – which if you’re wondering includes me sitting in bed freezing writing this blog post! Ha!

I have however set myself a few goals I would like to achieve in 2017! Now I’m not going to promise anything BUT it’s better to try than not to have tried at all!

Firstly I would like to do at least one blog post a week!

I’d love to start eating healthier or at least making sure I take lunch to work with my daily!

and finally by the end of the year I would like to be going to the gym. (Honestly this is most likely the hardest one for me, I’m lazy – I like to nap)

What are your goals for 2017? Until next time my loves…

Happy Planner Review

Hey My Loves,

I’m sorry I’ve not been around… The Rabbits ate the lead to my super hub. It was a hard period of my life. Anyway, while I was away I had some Happy Mail from Amazon!

Let me just start with how obsessed I am with watching Plan With Me videos on YouTube. I am personally a very unorganized person so when I started watching these videos I was like ‘I could do that, it’ll keep me motivated!”. So I got to looking at the Erin Condren and Happy Planners. Now, as beautiful as the Erin Condren planners are they start from $65 then another $40 to ship them here to the UK and in all honesty, that is a little out of my budget for a planner. So  I started to look at The Happy Planner by Me and My Big Ideas (Mambi) – on there online shop they range from $30 upwards but again the shipping costs were ridiculous to send them internationally. I started to get disheartened and wondered if all good things are in America, then an idea hit me – AMAZON! I searched the Happy Planner and hazzar there they were £25 with free shipping for Prime customers and that was that – I picked my design and added it to my basket. It took the planner around 3 weeks to arrive but boy was it worth it! Honestly, it is the most beautiful thing I was ever seen in my life! I was in love.

Today I’m going to talk about which style I picked and show you a quick over view of the planner itself.

So, I picked the BIG Happy Planner in the design Stay Golden, the planner itself is 8.5″ by 11″ and dated from July 2016 – December 2017. The great thing about these planners are that they are easy to personalize. All the pages, including the covers are removable and you can buy add-on packs for meal planning, chores and travel. Mambi also sells coordinating washi tapes and sticker sets which excites me highly!

So each month comes with its own divider featuring a cute quote or pattern – all in a watercolour theme. They are thick card stock and the tabs themselves are laminated. Along side each divider they have incorporated a ‘Monthly Currents‘ sheet which I just love the idea of – you could look back at the year and know what you were loving that month!

Along side each divider they have incorporated a ‘Monthly Currents’ sheet which I just love the idea of – you can include important dates, monthly goals and birthdays. You also have a section to document what you are loving that month – this is a great idea. I love the idea that I could go back over the year and see if my tastes have changed or if I change with the seasons etc!

You have a month at a glance page at the beginning of each new section, which all coordinate with the divider – I’m honestly not sure if this is something I would find beneficial but I will include my holidays on these pages so I can keep track of when I have booked time off work. IMG_4172

Now to the fun part – the week at a glance pages. Again these all coordinate with the dividers – some have quotes running along the bottom other have simple watercolour stokes. Either way they are just stunning. The boxes are quite large as well so you have plenty of space to write To Do lists, errands, work schedules etc.

I’ve had the planner so a few weeks now but I’ve been using just one, so I’ll definitely do an updated impressions post in a few months – let you know how I’ve been getting on, if I’ve been keeping up with the planning.

How do you keep focused on life? Let me know in the comments below!

Love, Heather x

Disclaimer: I’m sorry for the poor quality of pictures – again I waited until a silly time to actually take the photograph 😦

Manicure Monday

Hey Guys,

Just a quick post today – I wanted to share this weeks nail colour with you all!

Nail Polish | Barry M – Caspian

I absolutely love this colour, it’s a gold and purple iridescent polish which changes colour in different light! If I am being honest I’m not sure whether this is still available as it was in my Christmas Stocking around two years ago but it’s from the Aquarium Collection! I’ll keep my eyes peeled for you!

Hope you’re Monday isn’t too gloomy!

Strawberry Picking at 27

Hi Guys,

How are you? I know it’s been a while. So today I thought I’d take you with us Strawberry picking. It’s my 27th Birthday and Jessica thought it’d be a good idea to not waste the sunshine and take me strawberry picking.

We went to a small farm called Wymeswold Fruit Farm not too far from us. Here you can pick all sorts from Strawberries to Gooseberries. We chose to pick Strawberries which were £2.25 a kilo. Only problem was Strawberry season is nearly over so we didn’t have great pickings but we did find that the further you go into the field the better the crop!

Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a more fun trip out for my Birthday – one thing I can definitely give credit to Jess for is her ideas! She always plans the best dates!

Here’s what I wore:

Dress: New Look | Shoes: Primark | Bag: Fiorelli | Sunglasses: Calvin Klein

I hope you all have been making the most of the English Summer.

What is your perfect date day?
